About Raised Spot UV Business Cards

Raised spot UV business cards put a clear, glossy layer on the parts of your design you choose, raised high enough that you can feel it with a fingertip. Printed by Print It On in Winnipeg, they pair that shine with a soft matte or suede background, so your logo, your name or a pattern catches the light every time the card is turned.

What raised spot UV does and who it suits

Spot UV is a clear coating applied only where you want it. On these cards it is built up into a raised layer, which gives even a simple design real texture without adding another colour. It works well for:

  • Logos and brand marks you want people to notice and remember

  • Real estate agents, salons, designers, photographers and consultants who hand out cards every day

  • Patterns, lines and borders that add depth to a dark or minimal card

Size, stock and lamination

Every card is the standard 3.5 x 2 inch business card size, printed in full colour on 16pt card stock. Choose the lamination that sets the feel:

  • 16pt + Matte lamination: smooth and low glare, a clean base that makes the gloss stand out.

  • 16pt + Suede lamination: a soft, velvety touch that makes the raised UV feel even sharper.

Options for your cards
  • Raised UV on: the front only, or the front and back.

  • Corners: classic square corners or round corners.

How to order
  • Design online: start from a free template in our designer, then mark the parts of your design that get the raised UV. The designer warns you if raised text or lines are too thin to print well.

  • Upload your file: send your print-ready artwork and show us where the raised UV goes. We check every file for free before it prints, and you can ask for a proof before printing at checkout.

  • Ask us to design it: our in-house design team can create your card. Request a quote and tell us what you have in mind.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between spot UV and raised spot UV?

Flat spot UV is a thin gloss coat that you see more than you feel. Raised spot UV is built up much thicker, so the glossy areas stand above the card and you can feel them.

How small can raised UV text be?

Keep raised UV text at 10 pt or larger and fine lines at least 0.5 pt thick, and keep them a little in from the trim edge. Our designer checks this for you as you work.

Can I get round corners on raised spot UV business cards?

Yes. Choose Round corners on this page. Square corners are also available.
